Chairman

Cllr Tony Taylor

My name is Tony Taylor, I moved to Great Mead in Bishops Hull in 1991.  My step-children attended the local primary and secondary schools.  My step-daughter Rachel lives in the village with her husband and three children who attended Bishops Hull Primary and now Castle school. My step-son Nicholas and family live in Ruishton where he is on the Parish Council.  I worked for Somerset Camping and Leisure, The Brewhouse Theatre and ran the Ring of Bells pub with my wife Bronya.  In later years I worked with Somerset Road Safety delivering cycle training to schools, maybe I helped you or your children become confident cyclists?  When not busy with my own garden or hidden passion for renovating antique chairs/occasional tables, (not so much these days with failing dexterity and eyesight!), I can be found with the Hub Gardening Club.  I am further involved with the Hub as Parish Council link. I’m a member of the local Constitutional Club and became a PC member to promote unity within the village I love. Being Parish Chairman is often challenging but always enlightening and an absolute pleasure.  Feel free to approach me for a chat when you spot me around the village.
